Frost

Happy things from today:

  • It is Friday and I worked.  Why am I happy about that?  Because I wanted to leave and didn't until the day's work was done.  So I left a little early, but not until we were done and just had organizing for the next shift left to do.  I'm happy that I stuck to it.
  • It is supposed to rain this weekend so I made a point of taking pictures of what we currently have for colorful foliage.  Sometimes the rain brings the leaves down with it.  All the trees aren't as vibrant this year because of our summer weather.  There is still a lot of beauty outside this season.

  • The prompt for Inktober is Frost.

Cold

At just before noon the unheated front enclosed porch was almost 70 degrees despite it being zero outside with a windchill making it feel like -22. The weather app on my phone has a picture of a sunflower. I fail to understand how a sunflower could thrive at this temperature, but it is a nice sign of things to come.

Other happy things from today:

  • It was a stay inside, lazy day.
  • We have a propane fireplace in the living room that helped take away some of the chill in the house. I like being warm.
  • After taking a break for the week I did a bunch of weaving again today. I'm getting closer to finishing it.
