Flowery Tuesday

Some happy things from today:

  • On Friday Keziah and I will be meeting up with some family to plant geraniums on deceased family members' graves. Today I bought some geraniums to plant. I didn't used to like geraniums, but I like them now. Funny how things change.

  • Last week I went to the studio and glazed the remaining piece of pottery that I missed when I took a class before Christmas. I got it back today.

  •  Lilacs are blooming. When I was a kid, around five or six maybe, we lived in a house that had a row of lilacs along one side of it. I used to play in that space between the lilacs and the house. It was like a secret hideaway. Maybe that is why lilacs always seem special to me.

  • Near the lilacs at the front of the house I saw a different flower. According to Lens it is honeysuckle.

Tournament of the Roses

Some of today's happy things:

  • Gideon and I went to an event today. My task was to get him to the event so that he could help work the dayboard. My task was easy.
  • I mostly got to hang around and visit with people (adults and children) and this was good.
  • At court I got to see some very deserving people receive awards for the things they do. There were competitions and one of my friends placed in the Arts & Sciences one.
Pictures from the day:

  • Some lilacs were in full bloom, smelling lovely, in the area.

Home Again

Some happy things:

  • The event yesterday was over a two hour drive and we planned on staying at a hotel. I woke up super early and played games on my phone waiting for everyone else. It was a good, peaceful time.
  • A few steps outside with bare feet this morning and I wanted more. Unfortunately, by the time I got home I was exhausted. It was lovely while it lasted though.
  • Our first breakfast was a crescent roll with some cinnamon butter. It was delicious, but not enough so we picked up more on the drive home.

  • It was a beautiful day to be out for a Sunday drive.

  • The white lilacs at home are slowly starting to open.

Cinco de Mayo

There was nothing special for me this year for Cinco de Mayo. Here are some happy things from today:

  • I chose to walk in the city today with little in mind but playing Pokémon Go, Pikmin Bloom, and going to a store. Keziah dropped me off and I did these things and walked to the studio. It was a really nice day to be outside.  I took a few pictures of things that made me happy.

  • For some reason I haven't been feeling very creative lately. When I'm at the studio my mind goes blank and I don't know what to do. I should probably have a plan in mind but I don't. Today I found something to do that wasn't very artsy or crafty–it was untangling string for later use–but it felt like I started to feel better about being there. After doing that for a little bit I helped Keziah by finishing some hand sewing on a tunic for Gideon.  Maybe some creative juices started flowing a little.

Hyacinth

Some happy things for today:

  • At work I was put at the Problem Solve desk by myself for the first part of the night. It was busy and I wasn't able to keep up and I ran into new problems. Thankfully there were people to help out.
  • The daffodils are very close to blooming.

  • A purple flower, maybe a hyacinth, has popped up next to the daffodils. I think I remember hyacinths being there last year.

  • There are some small leaf buds starting to show on the lilac tree. Spring seems to be taking its time, probably because I am looking for it.
