At Home Day

Happy Saturday things:

  • The first part of the day I spent lounging around in my pajamas.  I tried to nap around lunch time, and then got dressed.
  • Still, I never left the house.  I'll call this an early introvert day.
  • In between watching movies and eating, I did lots of laundry, dishes, and cleaned out the microwave.  The best part about today's laundry is that it was not mine.  I did loads of laundry for the rest of the family and I'm not responsible for putting it away.  Yay for some productivity!
  • Shortly after the sunset, I took a picture of the horizon through a window.  If there were colors as it set, I missed them.  I'm happy I took the pictures.  I decided on a goal for 2024 to post pictures more on my social media.  So now I keep forgetting to take pictures!

Laundry Day

A few happy things from today:

  • This is the second time within four weeks that I have had Covid. The first time (a few weeks ago), my symptoms were worse than now. Other than the intense nausea and dizziness in the beginning that medications helped with, I don't feel like I had it too bad. This time, my symptoms are even less. One of the symptoms that I have heard about is losing one's sense of taste. I'm thankful that is a symptom that I haven't had. I am a very picky eater, somehow I don’t think loss of taste would help that. 😛
  • Today I got a little bit productive and did laundry. Not just my laundry, but the household’s towels and some miscellaneous things that were in the laundry room.
  • The new work shoes I ordered the other day arrived.  They aren't the most comfortable, they will improve once I get some liners.
  • In the afternoon I stepped outside to get the mail and pick up some packages that were delivered. We had some light flurries this morning, but they were mostly gone by the time I went outside.

Fortune

Today, some happy things are:

  • Work went well.  The woman I worked alongside this morning actually supplied me with a few laughs.  This helped the day go by faster.
  • Although I miss Gideon being home when I get home from work, it is also nice to be home for him when he gets home from school.  Sometimes I get to be the one to ask him how his day was.  That is an ordinary thing, that I find very special.

  • We have a brand new washing machine and dryer.

  • The Inktober prompt today is Fortune.

Bounce

 Happy things from today:

  • Autumn is here and with the cooler weather comes two of my favorite drinks.  Apple cider and eggnog are both available in the grocery stores.  It may seem too early for eggnog, but I prefer it to last a while.
Eggnog

  • I went to the laundromat one last time (I hope) for a while.  The new washer and dryer are on the way and should be installed while I sleep.  The people that work at the laundromat were nice, but I'd rather do my laundry at home.
  • Today the Inktober prompt is Bounce.  It took me a few tries to get a face that looked at least okay.  Again, I'm not an artist, but I think I got the point across with this drawing.

Toad

 Happy Sunday!

  • Keziah and I did some cleaning in the laundry room.  A new washer and dryer are coming tomorrow afternoon.  One of the things she did was find some books to get rid of.  She let me look them over in case I wanted some.  I'm a little nostalgic for the kids books we are getting rid of.  Some other child will appreciate them.

  • I had a nice talk with TF.  We talked about Inktober and she was able to find a picture she drew from a few years ago.  It is of the two of us.  So nice!

  • The Inktober prompt for today is Toad.  I'm not an artist, but here we are…

Laundry

Some happy things for today:

  • It is almost embarrassing how much help I needed at the laundromat today.  I'm very happy that there was someone there to help me with the basics… like getting my card to swipe for payment and closing the door tightly.  Perhaps anxiety played a part?  Either way, I'm glad they were there.
  • There are plans in the works to rent a dumpster to clean up the yard and the shed.  These are good things and I hope I find the energy to help out a bunch.
  • Zed made dinner and baked some store bought cookies for dessert.  Yum!
  • Outside I noticed a little bit of fall foliage in the back.

Lilac seeds/seed pods?

Home Day

Happy Monday things:

  • The first day back from Pennsic is filled with periods of resting followed by periods of unpacking with maybe some laundry in the middle. This year Keziah has decided to take most of the laundry to the laundromat instead of doing load after load at the house. I am very thankful that she is doing this. Since I work tonight, all the machine washing will be taken care of while I sleep.
  • Zed had a professional type person mow the lawn. Some of the daylilies were mowed, but they already seem to be bouncing back.
  • There are brown-eyed (black-eyed?) Susan’s that are blooming in the front of the house. Most of the other flowering plants in the front are done flowering.

  • Now that Pennsic is over I can post a picture of the medalion that was designed for entering this year.  It doubled as a bottle opener which some people were very upset about.  There were some creative ways that people altered their medallion to remove that feature.  I just hung mine upside down.  The little golf cart hanging from it was given to me to show that I could drive a golf cart.  The makers of the medallion got the year wrong, it should be AS LVIII.
