The Yukon

Happy Thursday things:

  • When I was a kid in Geography class (maybe sixth grade?), we learned about Canada. I remember learning specifically about the Yukon Territory.  The population density at the time was really, really small.  It is less than one person per square mile and was even less then.  The introvert in me thought the Yukon Territory must be heaven.  Today, having been in isolation twice in the last four weeks for Covid, it no longer seems like heaven.  Anyhow, for some unknown reason my Facebook algorithms have started suggesting Yukon Wildlife Cams.  I'm enjoying them.  Here is one through Facebook that features bears.
  • Tonight I go back to work.  Strangely, I'm looking forward to it.
  • Things were added to my holiday shopping list today while I scrolled the internet.  I made a purchase that I hope I don't regret.  I also avoided some scams.
  • Sunset!

Monday!!

Happy Monday things:

  • The doctor believes that this is a new covid for me and not the one from a few weeks ago reemerging. Since my symptoms are fairly mild we are just using over-the-counter meds as needed to fight the symptoms. I haven’t used anything, because the symptoms are so mild. I am very thankful for that.
  • Some of my time today was spent holiday shopping online. I was able to find a few things for some of the family. Bel and Folke should be getting their gifts delivered to them in Maryland. This was really the beginning of my shopping, so I have to put my thinking cap on for ideas.
  • Zed did some shopping tonight and picked up a bunch of food for me.  I had him get simple things to prepare like frozen dinners and cans of soup.  I'm very thankful that he was willing to do that for me.
  • The other day I reached an 1800 day streak on DuoLingo. Today was 1802. I forgot to post on day 1800 and I like that screenshot better:

Shopping

Today's happy things:

  • About 45 minutes away is a fabric and clothing store, Dorr Mill Store. Keziah and I went there for the first time today. It was a beautiful drive past lakes, forests, and mountain views. The fabric part of the store specializes in wool. Keziah picked up a lovely plaid.

  • On the way to Dorr Mill Store we stopped at another store. This one, Witching Hour Provisions, sold natural cleaning and refillable products. It is a cute shop with many novelty items.

  • On the way back from Dorr Mill Store there was a deer that we saw on a side road. I chose to enjoy the view rather than fumbling for a picture.
  • Gideon had field day at his school today.  The team he was on won.  Yay!
