Monday!!

Happy Monday things:

  • The doctor believes that this is a new covid for me and not the one from a few weeks ago reemerging. Since my symptoms are fairly mild we are just using over-the-counter meds as needed to fight the symptoms. I haven’t used anything, because the symptoms are so mild. I am very thankful for that.
  • Some of my time today was spent holiday shopping online. I was able to find a few things for some of the family. Bel and Folke should be getting their gifts delivered to them in Maryland. This was really the beginning of my shopping, so I have to put my thinking cap on for ideas.
  • Zed did some shopping tonight and picked up a bunch of food for me.  I had him get simple things to prepare like frozen dinners and cans of soup.  I'm very thankful that he was willing to do that for me.
  • The other day I reached an 1800 day streak on DuoLingo. Today was 1802. I forgot to post on day 1800 and I like that screenshot better:

Number One

Happy things for today:

  • On Saturdays, DuoLingo adds an additional five points to the score during the first hour of practice.  For a short time I was number one in the Pearl League.
  • The family got more cookies at Crumbl. I will never be able to give up gluten again if we keep getting yummy treats.
  • Helping Keziah at the shop today. I mostly measured out fabric and built shelves. She opens her new shop in less than a week. There is still a bunch to do but it looks more and more like a craft store every day.

Now that is a lot of ribbon.
  • Nanni thinks she's sunbathing.  🤣

Sleep

Happy things from today:

  • Sleep is a wondrous thing. Today was so much better than yesterday. Work was good. They served waffles at mealtime.  Other than occasional mechanical difficulties with the equipment, it was a good day.
  • At home I practiced on DuoLingo reaching a 1700 day streak. In all honesty, they have streak freezes that maintain a streak when a day is missed and I have used a few of them. For reaching this milestone I am getting three days of premium DuoLingo for free.

  • It has been a while since I wandered the property. I only went to areas just outside the top driveway where things are overgrown and found three flowering plants.  I'm sure I'll get to the other twelve-ish acres at some point, but not today.  If I didn't already know what the flowers were, I used the Lens app to identify them.
Rabbit Tobacco

Platycodon grandiflorus or Chinese bellflower.

Hedge bindweed.

  • I have listened to this before and started reading it in the spring. I thought I would be able to finish it faster by listening to it and finally have my turn to borrow it through Libby.

Happy Wednesday

Some happy things for today:

  • Because of yesterday’s holiday I only worked a part day today. The sky was very bright from the sun being out. We have had so much rain lately seeing the sun and a blue sky was a welcome change.

  • Last night I looked for the movie 1776 online but didn't find it for free. I did find some of the songs from the show to watch as I tried to go to sleep.
  • A coworker asked me if I was mucho (a lot) happy today. I was able to respond that I was happy, but not mucho happy. So he asked if I was pequeno (small) happy and I agreed. It was an odd exchange. If not for Duolingo I wouldn't have understood pequeno.  The n should have a ~ over it, but I don't know how to do that on my laptop and my attempt failed.
