RomCom

Some happy things from today:

  • When I am assigned to the job of inducting packages I also get to work with someone who unloads the packages from carts for me.  Last night at work that person and I ended up talking through most of the shift.  Well, I listened, a bunch, and contributed some.  One of the things we talked about was hiking the white mountains.  He is trying to hike the 48 4000 footers in NH.  This is something that I would like to do as well.  It is always good when good dreams are remembered.  Hopefully this will reignite my motivation for this and other hikes I've been wanting to do.
  • There is little to no educational value, just entertainment, but I do enjoy holiday/winter romantic comedies.  I watch a little almost every day after work.  Even with the repeating themes, they help me relax.
  • Sunset!!

Finished listening to: Ridgeline, by Michael Punke.  --  This was an historical fiction book based on actual events.  At the end of the book the author went into some details about what was real versus what was fiction.  He also included additional reading for more information.

Also listening to: How to Win Friends & Influence People, by Dale Carnegie.

Scratchy

Sunday's happy things:

  • The morning was spent relaxing and playing word games on my phone. It was nice.
  • Eventually, I decided that taking a walk would be a good idea.  The rain I thought would be here today didn't come.  I asked Gideon and he agreed to go with me.  We hiked up to the local fire tower.  It was lovely.  There is still some nice foliage, it wasn't too cold, and the fresh air felt wonderful.  We saw a pair of horses, a sparrow, and quite a few dogs with their people.

  • The Inktober prompt is Scratchy.  I pulled up a picture off the internet as reference to look at while drawing.

Currently listening to: Dark Lord of Derkholm, by Diana Wynne Jones.

Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.

Plans and Daydreams

Today was spent visiting my friend, Amy. Here are some happy highlights:

  • Amy found an educational travel service aimed at people over 50 called Road Scholar. She found a vacation that we might like to take in the next year or so. I've never participated in something like this and it was fun daydreaming about it. Saving the money and finding the time is where I wake up! There is time to consider the possibilities though.
  • We also started plans for hiking part of the Minuteman Trail. We are hoping that toward the end of the month there will be time for that.
  • We had a nice walk in Amy's neighborhood. We didn't go too far because it kept sprinkling and we didn't want to be far from her house if it started to rain hard.
  • When I got home Nanni decided that she wanted all the pets!
