Christmas Day

Happy things from this Christmas day:

  • This morning I stayed in bed too long because Nanni, the brown tabby cat, decided to snuggle up next to me on the bed.
  • The stockings were filled with sweetness.  Most of my candies were peppermint or vitamin C themed.  Among other things there were also earrings, stickers and a little puzzle.  Some other gifts included more earrings, safety lights for walking at night, and a book about hiking the 4000 footers in New Hampshire.  I really need to read more again.
  • As for the others... Gideon was very happy with the game and t-shirt I got him.  Some things he got were books, clothes, and a galaxy moon lamp. I was worried about what I got for Zed… a toilet seat and bidet.  Our current ones are falling apart.  Anyhow, he seemed thrilled. He also got books and some fun toys.  Keziah got art supplies, books, and some jewelry. She also got some things for the store.  I think we were all happy with the things we received.
  • Zed's mom visited and breakfast was made.  It was good to have her here.  Last Christmas she was staying here and we got to see her all the time.
  • In the afternoon I relaxed with a movie and a walk while the rest of the household went to visit Zed's family.  Down time is what I needed for a while.
  • My youngest and I had a lovely video call, too.

Peppermint

Here are a couple happy things from today:

  • A friend had a medical test today that they had to stay awake all night for. Since I am awake at work all night I got to send them messages during my breaks. It was a happy change of pace from my normal breaks.
  • Things have been busy lately so TF and I haven't been on the phone as much as usual.  I'm happy to say that we had a nice call today and were able to catch up.
  • There is still more candy left from Christmas that I haven't finished. I've been trying to make it last. Today I savored the last of my Lindt Peppermint White Chocolate Truffles. They are so sweet and delicious.

Internet Trails

The internet gives us so much information after just a few clicks on the keyboard. There are answers to so many questions. Gideon and Zed have been watching the original Zorro TV show. Zorro was played by the actor Guy Williams. It turns out that Mr. Williams was also the father in the TV show Lost in Space from 1965. And that is why we watched the first episode of Lost in Space on Amazon Prime tonight. The robot makes me laugh. Other happy things from today:

  • I managed to weave for a little over an hour this morning as planned. I am over half way through with this band.

  • Keziah, Gideon, and I spent most of the afternoon at the studio. I did very little aside from help Keziah occasionally with pinning things and I had a nice nap.
  • It snowed. Not much, but I am pleased to say that it looked pretty coming down. This is the first winter that I remember not wanting. Perhaps it is just selective memory. Seeing the beauty in the falling snow seems like a good sign for me.

--This is not a book I don’t remember putting on my Kindle, but it was there so I started reading it when I couldn’t get to sleep last night.

Hi, I'm Shy

A man at work commented about how quiet I am. When I told him it is because I am shy, he decided to make it his mission to bring me out of my shell. The next few hours, every time he saw me he said hello and sometimes made small talk. I find this entire situation humorous. Other happy things from today:

  • Gideon, my grandson, likes the rain. When I got home from work he was outside in his new rain poncho enjoying the wet weather.

  • Of the many different candies that I got for Christmas the Meltaway Mints seem to remind me of my Aunt Gert. I don't know why, but it still makes me happy.

  • Thirty minutes of weaving accomplished! Only background today, tomorrow I'll start some letters.
